Joshua Lachica, 2016–2017 vice president of public relations, is a junior at the University of Oklahoma. He is pursuing a Master of Arts degree in strategic communication.
Lachica first joined PRSSA as a freshman in 2014. He spent his freshman year on the philanthropy committee helping to raise awareness for Hayden’s Hope. His sophomore year, Lachica became the philanthropy chair where he focused on expanding the social media efforts of Hayden’s Hope.
Apart from PRSSA, Lachica served as an intern for McMahon Marketing where he focused on tailoring monthly social media strategies to various companies and organizations. Currently, Lachica serves as an account lead and services other account teams for Lindsey + Asp, the student-run public relations and advertising firm at the University of Oklahoma. Lachica is also the public relations director and member of the Gaylord Ambassadors, a small group of students hand selected to represent the student voice of Gaylord College at the University of Oklahoma.
After graduation, Lachica hopes to pursue a career at an agency relatively close to home. He enjoys spending time with his family, keeping up with politics and practicing his photography skills.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will sore on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 49:29-31
