Taking a walk through the city is a journey through history. Indianapolis is rich with war memorial monuments such as the World War II monument that provides a space for festivals. Monument Circle, dedicated to sailors and soldiers, offers a civil war museum and a lookout tower with a view of the city.
Indianapolis offers an array of entertainment options through its six cultural districts. The host hotel, Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, is located in the center of the city at Monument Circle. Around the Circle, visitors will find places to eat, scenic carriage rides or can enjoy a concert by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Guests also will be within walking distance of the Indianapolis White River Canal. On the three mile canal walk, visitors can discover the Indianapolis Zoo, historical society, NCAA headquarters, Indiana State Museum and miles of beautiful artwork and rich historical artifacts. Whether you travel by foot, paddleboat or gondola, the eccentric canal walk has something for everyone.
While in Indianapolis, attendees can go shopping at the many storefronts located in Circle Centre Mall and enjoy dinner at one of Indianapolis’ elite restaurants. Visitors can immerse themselves in the Indianapolis community by attending an Indians baseball game at Victory Field or a Colts game under the retractable roof of Lucas Oil Stadium.
