FULLERTON, Calif. — The California State University, Fullerton Chapter recently hosted a social for PRSSA board members from Chapters in southern California as a networking event. The mixer was held at Wahoo’s Fish Taco in Huntington Beach on August 19 from 5 to 8 p.m.
In attendance were board members from the PRSSA Chapters at: California State University, Long Beach; California Polytechnic University at Pomona; California State University, Bakersfield; California State University, Northridge; and San Diego State University.
Cal State Fullerton PRSSA president Katie Stolting came up with the idea to host a mixer after attending the PRSSA Leadership Rally in June.
“I wanted to give our board and other boards the same opportunity to meet leaders from different schools,” Stolting said.
Omar Cobian, treasurer for PRSSA CSUB, drove three hours to and from Bakersfield to meet with everyone.
“Learning that there are students with other majors in PRSSA than just public relations was refreshing,” Cobian said. “It’s good to know that public relations has a place in all careers.”
Around 20 students attended the mixer. Cal State Fullerton PRSSA looks to host another mixer in the future with more members from other Chapters in southern California.
