TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (Nov. 11, 2016) — The University of Alabama (UA) PRSSA Chapter created an opportunity for PRSSA Chapters in the Southeast region to discuss leadership and Chapter development by hosting the second annual PRSSA Leadership Workshop on Sept. 15.
“The networking experience was invaluable,” said Jada Culver, UA PRSSA Chapter president. “It was enlightening to see what strategies other executive board members have successfully implemented at their schools. I will definitely be taking insights gained from other Chapters and attempt to apply them to better ours.”
A total of 24 students and three Chapter advisers from Mississippi State University, University of North Alabama The University of Alabama at Birmingham and The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa attended the workshop from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Representatives and professionals of the Alabama PRSA board also attended the event to speak on goals for strengthening the PRSA/PRSSA relationship, including Tiffany Fessler from HOAR Construction, Alicia Rohan from the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB) and Lori Quiller from Medical Association of the State of Alabama.
The workshop featured a welcome lunch and three breakout sessions. Each session offered two separate discussions allowing attendees to choose topics of interest.
