OREM, Utah (Dec. 8, 2016) — Utah Valley University’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Chapter members hosted their annual fall fundraiser from Oct. 26 – Nov. 4. In an effort to raise money for the student organization, UVU PRSSA members temporarily replaced the UCCU Center’s staff in their ushering and custodial duties during the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) girls’ volleyball state tournament.
“PRSSA's Fall 2016 fundraiser was such a success,” said Kaycee Colledge, vice president of fundraising for UVU PRSSA. “This fundraiser was the first of its kind for PRSSA, meaning we have always planned an event or had some kind of fundraiser in which we invited people to come to us. We had some apprehension about simply raising money based on volunteer-work, but I think it is safe to say that, as a whole, the UVU PRSSA organization thoroughly enjoyed it.”
The fundraiser was a team effort. Not only do the remarks of leadership support the success of the fundraiser, but the numbers speak for themselves. The results are as follows:
“It was refreshing to give our time back to the school as we raised money for the organization we benefit so much from,” Colledge said. “Here's to a very successful fundraiser and many more to come!”
