OREM, Utah (Dec. 8, 2016) — The Utah Valley University Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter hosted students for their semi-annual fall excursion to agencies such as Adobe, DOMO and Nuvi on Nov. 4, 2016. During the excursion, students had the opportunity to learn from public relations professionals in some of the most high-profile companies in Utah. Students that applied for the excursion had to be a national PRSSA member, a UVU student and interested in the public relations industry. Registration opened Oct. 19 and space was limited to 27 attendees.
“We were so excited to have the opportunity to visit some of the most successful start-up’s in Utah county,” said Kaycee Colledge, vice president of fundraising, UVU PRSSA. “To get the chance of learning from some of the brightest minds in Utah, is something that is worth the cost of our college tuition.”
The students started the excursion at 9 a.m. with their first stop at Domo, Inc. in American Fork, Utah. Domo is an online optimization platform that connects the right data and people in real-time to improve business results. Students visited with the company’s Vice President of Communications, Julie Kehoe. Kehoe oversees a small team of four that upholds the media relations, analyst relations and corporate communications at Domo.
After visiting Domo, students continued their excursion to Adobe in Lehi, Utah. Adobe is a multimedia software that provides a variety of animations, desktop applications and mobile games. At Adobe, students met with David Olsen, senior manager of Adobe customer programs. Olsen works in digital marketing, creatives and the creative community in helping to make the world by going paperless.
Following Adobe, students made their way to Nuvi, also located in Lehi, Utah. Nuvi is a real-time analytics platform for social media. At Nuvi, students met Stuart Dean, executive vice president of business development. Dean manages a team of sales professionals, overseeing the operations and development of the company.
