Publications Editor in Chief
Emma Ingram, 2018–2019 Publications Editor in Chief, is a senior public relations major with minors in marketing and international business at American University (AU) in Washington D.C.
Ingram joined AU PRSSA during her freshman year and quickly became an active member. After four months as a general member, she was elected as the Chapter’s youngest vice president. She served in this role for one semester before being asked to take on the role of Chapter president in the second semester of her sophomore year. Some highlights from her term as Chapter president include taking 13 students to the PRSSA 2017 National Conference, creating a new executive board position and maintaining membership above 100 students.
As a junior, Ingram had the opportunity to serve on the Industry News and Current Events subcommittee. This allowed Ingram to further her involvement at the national level while also developing a greater understanding and appreciation for the role of publications in the Society.
Aside from PRSSA, Ingram has held two summer internships at Sharon Merrill Associates and The Castle Group, both in her home city of Boston.
In her free time, she loves giving campus tours to prospective students at AU, traveling the world with her family and informing everyone that she indeed has no sense of smell.
“Someday, everything will make perfect sense. So for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, be strong and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason”
