Daniel J. Edelman/PRSSA Award for the Outstanding Public Relations Student

Deadline: February TBA, 2017

Award: $1,500 cash award and a three-month paid internship for winner

The winner will receive $1,500 ($500 upon winning award and an additional $1000 upon start date of internship) and a three-month paid internship in one of Edelman’s U.S. offices (to be determined by Edelman and winner). The checks for each recipient will be payable to the recipients’ university for use on his or her behalf, and can only be used to directly fund the winner’s educational pursuits. Eligibility and Judging Criteria

Applicants must be PRSSA members. Judges will look for the following in the application:

  • Leadership.
  • Public relations-related achievements and activities.
  • Digital presence.
  • Recommendations from public relations faculty and/or industry professionals.


To apply, submit the following materials in a one-inch, three-ring binder:

  • An application form.
  • A resume.
  • No more than two letters of recommendation in sealed envelopes. Entries will not be considered without at least one enclosed with entry. Sealed envelopes are suggested.
  • No more than 10 samples of individual public relations work. Submit this application and supporting materials in a one-inch, three ring binder.

Make sure all materials are error free and thoroughly proofread. All application materials must be postmarked by Feb. TBA, 2017. Entries postmarked after February 29, 2016 will not be considered.
