Vice President of Brand Engagement
Terrell F. Merritt
Terrell F. Merritt, 2019-2010 vice president of brand engagement, is a senior at City College of New York in New York City. They will graduate in May 2020 after majoring in public relations and advertising with a minor in journalism.
Originally a computer science major, Merritt discovered PRSSA while attending Rochester Institute of Technology and was excited to join the chapter at CCNY after transferring to study public relations. After three months, they became their Chapter’s secretary. They then attended Regional Conferences at Boston University in Boston, Mass., and at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. Inspired by those experiences, they subsequently served as a Chapter vice president and as a Regional Ambassador, supporting the National Committee and Chapters in the Northeast.
In addition to PRSSA, Merritt has served as a junior outreach coordinator at the New York City Department of Education, aiming to increase diversity at some of the city’s high-performing public high schools. One of these schools serves as their alma mater.
In their spare time, Merritt can be found editing a Google Sheets file, pretending they are in a music video or exploring the New York City Subway system – even after having visited all 472 stations.
Merritt looks forward to elevating the voices and stories of all the members that make up the PRSSA brand.
