Vice President of Chapter Development
Marley Vawter, 2017-2018 vice president of chapter development, is a senior at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She will graduate in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations and a minor in Spanish.
As a freshman, Vawter joined BSU PRSSA and quickly got involved in her chapter. She was elected to serve her sophomore year as fundraising and philanthropy chair where she started her chapter’s annual fundraiser “Pizza Palooza.” Vawter served her Chapter as vice president her junior year, where she planned each chapter meeting, securing 14 speakers for the year and overseeing the planning and implementation of the second annual Pizza Palooza. Vawter also worked closely with the 2016 National Conference Committee, helping to coordinate all volunteers for National Conference. Through working closely with this team, she knew she wanted to expand her role within PRSSA.
Vawter is heavily involved within Ball State’s Nationally Affiliated Student-run Firm, Cardinal Communications. She is an account executive for three clients, Martin Luther King Dream Team, Motivate Our Minds and Jameson Camp. She also serves on the member development committee as member engagement chair.
Vawter will be spending her summer interning at Washington Media Group in Washington, D.C.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching crime shows and spending too much money at Starbucks.
