Vice President of Professional Development
Elizabeth Skeele, 2016–2017 vice president of professional development, is a senior advertising and public relations major with a business minor at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She calls central New Jersey her home and is proud to be from the Garden State.
Skeele attended a PRSSA kickoff during the first semester of her freshman year and stayed when she learned about Innovations, the school’s student-run firm. That semester she helped plan a Polar Plunge for the Lynchburg Special Olympics. During the spring semester of her freshman year, Skeele was elected to be firm director of Innovations.
By the beginning of her junior year, Innovations had tripled in size and brought in many new clients. She wanted to provide students a wide exposure to communication in different settings, so they tried to break into a new industry with each client. In the last two years Innovations has worked with various local and regional nonprofit and for profit organizations, as well as sports teams, politicians, and charitable organizations.
Skeele also works for Liberty’s Office of Student Leadership and has completed over 100 hours of community service in the last two years. As a community group leader and student life director she’s mentored dozens of girls during their college transitions. She believes there is nothing more rewarding than watching those around her succeed personally and professionally.
In her professional experience, Skeele has completed several internships revolving around political communication and healthcare marketing. This summer she plans to intern at a political activism organization in Washington, D.C.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains, playing Ultimate Frisbee, cake decorating and spending time with her friends.
