Vice President of Professional Development
Ashleigh Kathryn, vice president of professional development, is a recent graduate from the University of South Florida. She received her Bachelor of Arts in mass communications with a concentration in public relations. She also completed certificates in visualization & design and undergraduate business. Kathryn will be attending the University of Florida in the fall to pursue a Master of Arts in mass communication. She aspires to work in the entertainment industry and is considering law school for motion picture production.
Kathryn joined PRSSA in spring 2016 as a member. She increased her role in the Chapter by becoming an active member in KnoBull, USF’s student-run firm but by also attending the PRSSA 2016 National Conference. This Conference opened her eyes to new possibilities and motivated her to run for Firm Director of her Chapter’s firm. Shortly after she quickly jumped into her national role on the PRSSA 2017–2018 National Committee.
Kathryn set the bar by creating record-breaking Twitter chats and doubling CreateAthon initiatives. She fell in love with the position and committee and decided one year was simply not enough to ensure sustainability and achieve long-term goals for the position.
In her off time, she is a big film/tv buff and particularly favors those shows and movies made in the 90’s. She aspires to work on the next Dawson’s Creek or Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
