A. Kix Patterson, Conference Director
Kix is the chief communicator for the conference and is excited for the opportunities his team is providing for attendees.
Kix has been a member of PRSSA since Spring 2019. He is a graduate student at the University of Memphis studying Integrated Strategic Media. His main areas of research are crisis communications in political campaigns, media representation of LGBTQ+ people in media and the privacy concerns of minority groups on social media platforms.
Kix is originally from Tishomingo, Miss., but has resided in Memphis since 2015. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Creative Mass Media from the University of Memphis in May 2019, graduating with an honors distinction and five awards of excellence in leadership and creative media, including the 2018 Emerging Media Professional of the Year award.
Kix led the University of Memphis’ student-run strategic media firm, Meeman 901 Strategies, as the firm director for one year. He now serves as an adviser to the firm alongside Kim Marks Malone, APR.
Aly Brandon, Programs Director
Aly’s goal is to create sessions and events that provide opportunities of learning and networking for every single attendee.
Aly is currently a junior at the University of Memphis, studying public relations and social media marketing. She currently serves as the president of the University of Memphis PRSSA Chapter, and has been an active member since spring 2018.
After graduation she plans on pursuing a career in fashion or lifestyle public relations.
Aly is from Little Rock, Ark., and has interned for the Department of Residence Life at the University of Memphis working alongside their marketing department. She is currently an intern at Southern Bride Magazine working as their editorial assistant as well.
A fun fact about Aly is that she considers herself to be Beyoncé’s biggest fan.
Jael Hardaway, Communications Director
Jael is in charge of the creative content, using photography and video to showcase the event.
She is a junior at the University of Memphis, majoring in journalism and minoring in social media marketing. Also, she currently is the social media chair for the National Association of Black Journalists.
While Jael is off campus, she’s busy running her own multimedia platform called Unraveling Memphis where she is creating branding strategies, logos, social media content and flyers for Memphis based entrepreneurs and businesses.
Jael is a newcomer to PRSSA but she is ready to immerse herself into the field of public relations and to network and build relationships with her peers.
Kiki Savely, Logistics Director
Kiki is working to create an excellent Conference experience for PRSSA members by ensuring a safe, inclusive and well-thought-out schedule for the Conference weekend.
Kiki is a junior at The University of Memphis, studying public relations with a minor in social media marketing. She is from Tennessee’s very own Music City but is proud to call Memphis her second home. She serves as the fundraising officer for Memphis’ PRSSA Chapter. On campus, Kiki is a part of several organizations: Black Scholars Unlimited, Tigers Fight Hunger, and UMpact Sustainability Club.
Kiki is a self-proclaimed local guru — loving any and everything local. When she is not on campus, she is out finding hidden gems within the city. With her degree, she plans to go into nonprofit public relations or do freelance work for small businesses. A quote Kiki lives by is: If you’re not doing what you love and loving what you’re doing, why are you doing it?
