Rachel Meltzer, 2021-2022 PRSSA National President, is a senior at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Arts Management & Entrepreneurship.
Rachel previously served as the 2020-2021 Vice President of Events and Fundraising, working with Chapters to provide District Conferences and events and fundraising strategies as our world went virtual.
Rachel’s experience in PRSSA gave her the confirmation she needed that she was in the right industry and encouraged her to intertwine her passions with her career and take advantage of every opportunity possible. It is Rachel’s hope that every member of PRSSA feels empowered and equipped to go and achieve their goals.
Rachel has worked across a myriad of industries and with members of Broadway, Disney and state theatre organizations. She has interned with companies such as Adams Davy Agency, Class Act Productions, Dallas Entrepreneurship Center and others. Additionally, Rachel has been a stage manager for the past ten years, being involved in over 45 productions and multiple large-scale events. On campus, Rachel spends her time involved as President of the Advertising Club, Director of Membership for Alpha Gamma Delta, and working as the Research Director in the student-run firm, Lindsey+Asp. Rachel’s future goal is to go on to pursue a master’s degree and eventually run her own creative representation agency with a philanthropic focus in arts advocacy.
You can find Rachel traveling the states stage managing, teaching theatrical marketing and stage management workshops at state theatre conferences, recording her podcast, Hi Friends!: The Podcast, and volunteering in her community. She is an enneagram 3, a Texas girl at heart, and would love to talk any and all book, podcast or movie recommendations! Rachel is so excited to connect with members of our organization and help to celebrate each of our chapters.
