Vice President of Events and Fundraising

Rachel Meltzer

Rachel Meltzer, PRSSA 2020–2021 vice president of events and fundraising,
is a junior at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in
Journalism with a concentration in public relations and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in
drama with a concentration in stage management . She also has minors in arts management &
entrepreneurship and human relations.

Once Rachel arrived at OU, she immediately fell in love with public relations and
strategic communications. She joined the OU PRSSA Chapter and involved herself
within the Chapter’s promotions committee where she was able to express her love for
her Chapter and the organization. PRSSA gave her the confirmation she needed that
she was in the right industry and encouraged her to intertwine her passions with her
career and take advantage of every opportunity possible. It is Rachel’s hope that every
member of PRSSA feels empowered and equipped to go and achieve their goals.

Rachel has worked across a myriad of industries and with members of Broadway,
Disney, and state theater organizations. She has interned with companies such as
Adams Davy Agency, Class Act Productions, Couture House, and others. Additionally,
Rachel has been a stage manager for the past nine years, being involved in over 40
productions and multiple large-scale events. On campus, Rachel spends her time
involved in University Sing, Advertising Club, Drama Student Senate, Alpha Gamma
Delta, working in the Student-run Firm Lindsey+Asp, and as a small group leader for
Camp Crimson. Rachel’s future goal is to go on to pursue a master’s degree and
eventually run her own creative representation agency with a philanthropic focus in arts

You can find Rachel traveling the states stage managing, teaching theatrical
marketing and stage management workshops at state theater conferences,
volunteering, and making too many Pinterest boards! She is an enneagram 3, a Texas
girl at heart, and would love to talk any and all book, podcast or movie
recommendations! Rachel is so excited to connect with members of our organization
and help to celebrate each of our Chapters.
